Welcome to my travel blog. I’m Chris Shorrock, and I started this blog to share my travel experiences in some of the world’s more unusual and unknown corners.

You won’t find fancy hotel reviews or five-star restaurant write-ups. What you will find is community-run tourism projects, overland travel and remote homestays in developing countries—hence the name, Travel Obscure.

I’ve visited 45% of the countries on Earth. My long-term goal is to see all 195 (or more, or less, depending on how you calculate). It will take me a while, and I’ll be posting here with my progress as I go.
