Blue Lake Hut,
Nelson Lakes National Park

Surrounded by mountains and only a two-minute walk from the famous Blue Lake (with the clearest fresh water in the world), this hut is understandably popular. It’s a simple hut with 16 bunks, a central wood burner, an outdoor tap and long drop toilets. The draw of this hut is its proximity to the stunning Blue Lake, but the surrounding mountains are also breathtaking.
Staying at Blue Lake Hut will cost $25, and you’ll need to purchase a serviced hut ticket before you go.
