Skips Hut, Whirinaki Te Pua-a-Tāne Conservation Park
Skips Hut was the first hut to be built in Whirinaki Te Pua-a-Tāne Conservation Park. It has sweeping views of the forest-cloaked hills on the far side of Whangatawhia Stream. The hut is popular with hunters and is a short walk from the road end. It has nine bunks in three tiers, a wood burner, and an outdoor long drop toilet.
Staying at Skips Hut costs $10, and you must purchase a standard hut ticket before you go.
